Ski
Ski started towing cars in Fredericksburg in 1997. He learned from some of the best how to work a rollback and a wrecker. He learned customer service and how to work a wreck. He went on to get his class A CDL and learned to tow medium and heavy duty. Eventually, he went to work driving a tractor-trailer and for over 20 years drove just about every combination imaginable. After many years over-the-road he made the decision to make a career change. He wanted to be home more and the road and nights away were taking a toll on him both mentally and physically. He decided to get back into towing and realized that it was his first and one true love (other than Heather, of course). He remembered the feeling of helping people and it brought a light back to him. He soon realized that he could better help people with his own truck and Back Roads Towing was born. When he’s not out there towing cars and helping people Ski can be found in the shop (usually with one of the kids) working on anything from mud trucks to tractors and anything with an engine.
Heather
Heather is “the brains behind the operation” as she runs the office but she’s just as likely to be found in the shop, changing a tire on the side of the road, or hauling longer transports with the truck and trailer. Thankfully, modern technology has made her office mobile because she would much rather be outside. Heather has a degree in business but left the workforce years ago to homeschool her and Ski’s four children. Heather has been instrumental in helping her brothers build their tree service company and her father build his plumbing company. Outside of all things towing, Heather trains horses.
